Seat Servicing
Whatlington, Battle, East Sussex (Near Hastings)
Seat Full, Major & Interim Servicing
Is it time for your Seat to have it's manufacturer service or does your Seat simply need an annual service or TLC?
We offer a range of Seat services, both following the manufacture guidelines or the Bosch annual service routines.
What service does my Seat need?
Working out what servicing your Seat requires can seem a complicate minefield of service types. If your Seat is within it's warranty period then you will need to follow the suggest manufacturer guidelines to keep your Seat warranty intact. If however you are out of warranty we can also follow the Bosch service guidelines of Bronze (Minor), Silver (Major) and Gold (Full) services.
Interim Seat Service (Bronze)
The smallest service, also known as a Bronze, Basic or Oil service. These are normally for a low mileage car (sub 8000 miles) where criteria for other filters or additional checks can be postponed for another year. They are also great ways of keeping older cars running with some TLC.
Major Seat Service (Silver)
This is our most common service, also known as a Silver or Annual service. This consists of a detailed check over of your vehicle and as well as the oil, an extra filter is included e.g. Air or Pollen. Many customers will rotate the additional filter each year and is suited for people around the 10,000 per annum mark.
Full Seat Service (Gold)
A full service, often known as a Gold or Complete service covers all the filters and the spark plugs. Normally reserved to people on high mileage (15,000 or above) or those who just want peace of mind.
Seat Manufacturer Service
A manufacturer service follows the guidelines for your Seat vehicle and will vary each year depending on mileage and age. This routine is the only option if your vehicle still has warranty, but is also a popular choice for many who wish to remain the upkeep of this routine.
How often should I service my Seat?
This can vary greatly depending on whether you are following a fixed or long-life service. Most vehicles, especially the newer Seat's will have a service indicator to show you when a service is due.
If your Seat is outside of the warranty period we normally advise to have your service done every 12 months or 10,000 miles depending on whichever comes sooner.
How much will a Seat service be?
Servicing costs can vary greatly, but we normally use a ball park figure of £150+ for a bronze, £200+ for silver and £250+ for gold. If you want a quotation for your Seat service, then please use the estimate form on this page or give us a call.
Is my Seat warranty protected?
In short, Yes! As long as your Seat is being serviced according to the manufacturers guidelines, is still within original warranty terms and is done using genuine or OEM parts then your warranty will be ok.
Back in 2002, European Parliament introduced a Block Exemption ruling that forcing a consumer to have their service done via authorised channels only was too restrictive and anti competitive. This allows independent workshops access to service routines and computer information so servicing can be carried out without any effect on your warranty.
We are able to stamp your service book, or update your digital service record at the same time to show evidence of your Seat service.

Whatlington Garage have looked after my car for several years. I have always been very happy with their service and there have been a few instances when they went above and beyond to assist me when I had a problem with the car The staff are always helpful and friendly.I would not take my car to any other garage.
After finding this garage I stopped servicing my car in dealership.Another great service received today, very good price, fast, accommodating and professional. Will be definitely returning.
Been using Whatlington Garage for almost 10 years. Ben and his staff have always been professional and trustworthy. Happy to help and give advice. Definitely going above and beyond the standard level of service of other garages locally. Work carried out has always been top notch too. 10/10
"Ben, Katie and the rest of the hardworking, dedicated and wonderfully honest staff that make this place what it is, is a very rare commodity these days. I can’t find words to praise them highly enough. I don’t want to be writing all this anyway; if they get way more popular than they already are, I’ll have to wait longer to get seen, so actually yeah I think you should definitely go somewhere else!"
I came across this garage while searching for one that would offer specialized care to my twenty old Lexus, rather than going to a main dealer. After reading other people's thoughts I sent an email to enquire and received an answer which offered a clear and budget-conscious quote. My car was repaired and serviced with the care I wished for and always with the 'best' advice. I was pleased to drive away knowing that the work delivered was reflected in the quality and within budget. Anyone searching for a trustworthy garage I would fully recommend Whatlington;
These guys are awesome. When our clutch completely went on our journey on a Sunday, I was crazy anxious about finding a garage we could trust.Whatlington Garage were courteous, honest and lovely people to deal with. They managed to fit us into their busy week, and helped us get home before the following weekend. It was a fairly large cost because it was a big problem, but they quoted me and then broke the quote down for me explaining what needed doing and why. They kept the cost fair, and the turnaround time was fantastic. They also provided advice on my gearbox, and provided some advice after I drove home. (Just had my gearbox fixed at a garage closer to home - thank you for flagging it!)I'm only sorry we don't live closer to these guys as this garage would be a gem to have as a local!
The team at Whatlington Garage are one of very few that I can trust to work on mine and my families cars. They are friendly, knowledgeable and do a great job for a fair and reasonable price. Be mindful that because they are that good, they are always busy, so it’s best to book in advance.
Whatlington Garage is on the A21. Although it’s quite small it’s always busy and if you use them you will understand why. They are excellent at what they do, seem to offer unbiased honest advice and charge a reasonable price for an excellent service.
