It is a legal requirement for cars and vans over the age of 3 years to have an annual test known as the MOT (some exceptions). The MOT test is designed to inspect the safety of the vehicle to ensure it can remain on the road.

In the UK the law requires that all vehicles are kept in a roadworthy condition, once a year the road worthiness of a vehicle is checked and a certificate issued upon a pass on vehicles over 3 years old, this is known as an MOT.
Effectively we can MOT any car registered in the UK. We are situated on the A21 in Whatlington near Hastings, our primary area of coverage is Hastings, Battle, Bexhill, Rye and the surround small towns and villages.
Your vehicle will require it’s first MOT once it has reached 3 years of age, from here it needs an MOT once a year for the rest of it’s life to ensure its road worthiness and safety. Whatlington Garage is approved by the Government appointed Vehicle Operator Services Agency (VOSA) and MOT tests are by testers nominated by VOSA, the tests are carried out on your vehicle up to 1 month before expiry of an existing test and is a legal requirement for vehicles over 3 years of age. If your car fails its MOT we can advise you on the cost to repair the work, or you are more than welcome to get the car repaired elsewhere. As long as the repair is carried out within 10 working days you get a free retest but after this will require another full MOT to be carried out.
