Frequently Asked Questions
You can book your MOT up to one month (minus a day) before your current certificate expires. The expiry date of your new MOT will still be based on the old certificate, so you don’t lose any time.
You can check your MOT due date for free on the official GOV.UK website. Just enter your vehicle registration. Alternatively, ask us, we're happy to help you find out.
A Class 4 MOT covers cars, small vans, motorhomes, and 4x4s with up to 8 passenger seats. This is the most common MOT class and applies to the vast majority of private vehicles on the road. We can MOT most Class 4 MOT's, although we do have a height restriction due to the rollerdoor so motorhomes and high top vans can be problematic.
No. Unless you're driving to a pre-booked MOT appointment, it's illegal to drive without a valid MOT. You could face a fine of up to £1,000 and your insurance may be invalidated.
You will not automatically recieve an MOT reminder, if you have used our services before you will be reminded. We offer a free reminder service and can get you registered on our system for MOT and Service reminders via SMS and Email.
In virtually all cases, nothing! But if your vehicle is having its first MOT or has had a number plate change, please bring your V5C logbook. There may be some instances where additional information is required e.g. engine changes, but this is a rare exception.
Yes! Our MOTs usually take 60 minutes. You’re welcome to wait in our comfy reception area with Wi-Fi and free tea & coffee, or drop your car off and we’ll call you when it’s ready.
An MOT is a legal safety check, while a service is a more in-depth check that helps maintain your vehicle's health. We recommend doing both to keep your car in top condition, but they are separate.
Yes! Our technicians are fully trained and qualified to MOT both hybrid and electric vehicles.
If your car fails, we’ll explain why and advise on the next steps. You’ll get a free partial retest if the repairs are done within 10 working days, either with us or elsewhere.
