Air Conditioning Regas Service

If your air con has started blowing warm, musty, or just isn’t feeling as cool as it used to, it's probably time for a regas. We recharge all makes and models, using both R134A and 1234YF refrigerant gases, so whether your vehicle is old or new, we’ve got it covered.
A properly working air conditioning system doesn’t just keep you cool in summer, it also helps to demist your windows in winter, keep fuel efficiency up, and ensure the air inside your car stays fresh and clean. If it's been over two years since your last recharge, you're likely overdue.
You can book by phone, online, or pop in. If you're unsure which gas your vehicle takes, just give us your reg and we’ll check it for you, no stress.

R134A

£70

This is the older gas, commonly used in vehicles built before 2015.

Did you know?
Vehicles built after 1st January 2017 are legally required to use R1234YF, a gas that’s over 99% less polluting than the older R134A type. We can recharge both — just let us know your reg number and we’ll confirm what your vehicle uses.

Why Might I Need An Air Con Regas

Most air conditioning systems lose around 10–20% of refrigerant gas each year. This drop in gas pressure means your system has to work harder, costing you more in fuel and reducing overall performance. A simple regas service restores your air con to full power and keeps things running smoothly.
Signs you might need an air con regas:
  • Blowing warm or only mildly cool air
  • Windows take longer to demist
  • Strange smells from the vents
  • Reduced airflow from the system

What’s Included in a Regas?

Our comprehensive air con recharge service includes:
  • Old refrigerant removal
  • Vacuum testing for leaks
  • Fresh refrigerant gas added
  • System performance test before and after
  • Optional antibacterial treatment (air con clean)

Air Con Cleaning Service

If you’ve noticed unpleasant smells from your vents or musty air inside the car, your air con might need a deep clean. Over time, bacteria and mould can build up in the system, especially when moisture settles on the evaporator.
Our optional air con clean circulates a specialist antibacterial treatment throughout the system, targeting:
  • Mould and mildew
  • Harmful bacteria
  • Odours caused by damp and moisture
Recommended once per year (maybe add to your normal service routine, or combine with a cabin filter change) to maintain clean air and prevent health issues, especially for hay fever or asthma sufferers.

Air Con Clean

£20

An air con clean helps remove bacteria, mould, and unpleasant smells from your vents,  leaving your car smelling fresh and the air healthier to breathe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions about air con regassing? You’re not the only one! Here are some of the most common things our customers ask before, during, and after their appointment. Still not sure about something? Just give us a call, we’re happy to help.

Every 2 years is the general manufacteur recommendation. Many organisations recommend a yearly check to ensure it’s still working efficiently.

Cars built before 2014 usually take R134A. After 2017, it’s almost always R1234YF. Between 2014–2016, it varies. We can check for you with your reg.

Around 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the system and type of gas.

No. Air con checks and recharges aren’t included in MOTs or standard services. That’s why they’re often overlooked.

Absolutely. Air con produces dry, warm air that clears windows far quicker than regular blowers.

We perform a vacuum test to check for obvious leaks. If we spot something, we’ll let you know before adding gas.

It’s not recommended. DIY kits can cause overfilling, and if there’s a leak, you might lose all your gas — and your money.

Yes. If your system is low on gas, it works harder and uses more fuel. A regas keeps it running efficiently.

Yes! That’s a sign of bacterial build-up. Whilst not part of the air con regas process, this can be solved by asking for an air con clean / service as part of the process.

They do and in EVs, the air con also helps cool the battery. Keeping it maintained helps preserve charging speed and battery life.
